About The Position

We are seeking a professional, attentive, and safety-focused Security Officer to join our casino security team. In this role, you will help protect our guests, employees, and property while providing security services, emergency response, and first aid/emergency medical assistance as required. The ideal candidate has strong observation and communication skills, remains calm under pressure, understands the importance of exceptional guest service, and has experience as an Emergency Medical Technician in a fast-paced casino environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
• Successful completion of a nationally recognized Emergency Medical Technician course and passage of a national registry examination.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify suspicious activity, security concerns, potential safety hazards, and gaming-related schemes or cheating.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, policies, procedures, operating instructions, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports and routine correspondence.
• Sound judgment and the ability to apply common-sense reasoning in a variety of situations.
• Ability to work professionally and effectively in a fast-paced casino environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an Emergency Medical Technician in a fast-paced casino environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, courteous service to guests, employees, and visitors throughout the property.
• Attend to the medical needs of guests and employees and provide first aid and emergency medical assistance as required.
• Perform security duties on the assigned shift to help ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, company assets, and property.
• Regularly inspect first aid kits throughout the property and restock supplies as necessary.
• Maintain appropriate inventory control of oxygen, wheelchairs, first aid supplies, and related equipment and office supplies.
• Become familiar with hazardous materials used on property and applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing their use.
• Patrol, observe, and identify potential safety hazards, suspicious activity, security concerns, and gaming-related schemes or cheating, and report concerns to the appropriate individual.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies and coordinate appropriate solutions with internal personnel and outside emergency agencies when necessary.
• Serve as a dispatcher during emergency situations and facilitate the flow of information to appropriate personnel and agencies.
• Generate accurate and timely written reports documenting security-related incidents involving guests, employees, or the facility.
• Escort and observe guests and employees when needed to ensure their safety and protection.
• Assist with money fills and escorts as needed.
• Assist with the safe transportation of company funds and the opening and closing of the gaming floor.
• Maintain and properly control keys used to access secured areas.
• Operate company vehicles as directed.
• Maintain familiarity with company facilities, special events, emergency procedures, policies, and applicable regulations in order to assist guests and fellow employees.
• Attend safety meetings and regularly scheduled departmental meetings as required.
• Communicate important information to team members and appropriate departments.
• Verify identification from individuals who appear to be under the legal age in accordance with New York State gaming regulations.
• May be assigned as Officer-in-Charge and perform shift supervisory responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
