About The Position

The Security Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for responding to all medical emergencies and provides emergency care to Guests or Team Members until a physician or other qualified person assumes responsibility for the continuation of care. This position also performs all Security Officer duties and assists in protecting, safeguarding, and securing the North Fork Mono Casino & Resort's assets, Team Members, Guests, and visitors during assigned shifts. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position reports to the Security Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, and to handle sensitive situations with tact.
  • Excellent guest service skills, and the ability to handle guest concerns diplomatically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to pass handcuffing techniques.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, Guests, and Team Members.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High degree of integrity in performing job duties.
  • Ability to use office equipment with strong skills in Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a licensed EMT, Paramedic or related position required.
  • Must have a valid EMT or Paramedic certification at all times during employment and keep documentation on file with the department.
  • Registered with California BSIS required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Current RBS certificate required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
  • Valid California driver's license and insurability required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
  • Responds to all emergencies, provides emergency care utilizing EMT skills and training within the scope of training and Security Department Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for the protection of North Fork Mono Casino & Resort gaming assets and property, as well as protecting the life of those that work, do business with and visit the casino.
  • Conduct routine patrols of the parking facilities and entire casino property to maintain a visible security presence and a safe environment.
  • Exercise sound judgement under routine and stressful conditions.
  • Respond promptly to all disturbances with the objective of de-escalating the situation.
  • Maintain constant vigilance, observing, reporting, and acting upon all suspicious or unusual situations as directed by the Security Supervisor.
  • Detect and facilitate the correction of potential safety and security hazards.
  • Provide secure escort services for all transfers of monies on Casino grounds, including table game fills, table box pulls, and machine box pulls.
  • Operate company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Escort authorized personnel in and out of secured areas upon request.
  • Investigate all accident and injury reports within the casino and reports findings to the on-duty Security Supervisor and/or the Safety Manager for appropriate documentation.
  • Document all incidents accurately and maintain an updated incident log as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports concerning property damage, unusual occurrences, criminal activities, medical incidents, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist in conducting preliminary investigations (interviewing victims, witnesses, suspects) and support local public safety agencies as requested.
  • Maintain working knowledge of, and diligently enforce, all applicable laws, policies, and departmental procedures.
  • Uphold a high level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Provide excellent guest service to both Team Members and Guests.
  • Practice effective teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and contribute to an energized, positive work atmosphere.
  • Interact with Guests in a friendly and courteous manner and proactively address guest opportunities.
  • Maintain proper department uniform, appearance, and grooming standards.
  • Verify identification of patrons for age compliance (gaming/alcohol) and ensure proper badging procedures are followed for vendors, contractors, and team members.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
