About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driver Patrol Route in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving patrol officer supporting a residential community. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, respond to resident concerns, and document observations using provided technology. With integrity and teamwork, you will deliver reliable service, communicate clearly, and help create a welcoming environment where people come first.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a residential community.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting details and communicating updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe incoming and outgoing traffic for unusual activity, providing assistance with directions and reporting concerns per site procedures.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and participate in briefings and/or pass-downs to support consistent security-related coverage.
