Job Description As a Security Officer - Route Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a residential community, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with professionalism and care. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will document activity, communicate clearly with residents and site contacts, and support a people-first team that acts with integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential buildings, common areas, amenities, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity as assigned, verifying authorization and directing individuals to appropriate locations while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from property management and/or public emergency services when needed.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, communicating relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
