As a Security Officer Distribution Center in Pontiac, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Your visible presence will help deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue temporary access credentials, and maintain accurate access-related records.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entry points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership regarding access issues, incidents, and security-related observations.
