About The Position

As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points, manage badge access, respond to alarm panel activity, and conduct routine patrols to help maintain a secure environment. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and works together to help deter security-related incidents.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization credentials, issue visitor and contractor passes, and maintain accurate entry and exit records.
  • Control vehicle, trailer, and pedestrian access at gates and designated entry points in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to access-control incidents, unauthorized entry attempts, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, loading zones, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
