About The Position

As a Security Officer - Cultural Institution Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control, visitor management, and crowd control as needed for events and daily operations at the location.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter disturbances and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, guests, and Allied Universal management regarding incidents or concerns.
