As a Security Officer Courthouse in San Luis Obispo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government courthouse location, you will use X-ray screening equipment, manage access points, and provide courteous guidance to visitors, staff, and members of the public. Your visible presence and attention to detail will help identify potential security-related concerns while supporting orderly operations. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, court personnel, and the public by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and procedures; communicate prohibited-item concerns or access issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with directing visitors to designated entrances, screening areas, and public service locations while maintaining a professional, calm demeanor.
  • Respond to incidents, disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate court personnel or emergency responders.
  • Monitor assigned entry points and surrounding public areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized access, and document incidents or observations in accordance with site procedures.
