About The Position

As a Security Officer - Commercial Building in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail and mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support access control activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while responding to security-related concerns. Requirements

Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, shoppers, and retail staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with site management, law enforcement, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
