As an Unarmed Security Officer at a college location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age (C101).
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with the AU Driver Policy Requirements (C123).
  • Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management (B201).
  • Familiarity with alarm panel systems is necessary (B202).
  • Candidates must be comfortable using computers or tablets for daily tasks (B204).
  • A background in customer service is essential for all positions (B219).
  • Candidates should be able to lift more than 20 lbs (B209).
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, calls for service, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence hall exteriors, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for unusual conditions, access concerns, and maintenance-related hazards, and report observations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Document incidents, patrol activities, and shift-related information accurately and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
