Requirements
- Two or more years of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to an educational location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and activity across the location, provide directions and assistance when needed, and report maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior to the appropriate contacts.
- Support campus operations during classes, events, and high-traffic periods by maintaining a visible presence, assisting with crowd management, and following post orders and Allied Universal standards.
