About The Position

As a Security Officer Checkpoint Screening in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Requirements

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
• Screen visitors, team members, packages, and/or vehicles in accordance with post instructions and report unusual activity, prohibited items, and/or policy concerns to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and supporting security-related response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, with duties that may include monitoring entry points, trailer areas, loading zones, and other high-traffic areas.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptions by maintaining an attentive presence, following screening procedures, and communicating clearly with site personnel and visitors.
