Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify access, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post. You will support a professional environment through strong communication, customer service, and teamwork, while bringing integrity, reliability, and a people-first approach to each shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and document visitor, employee, and delivery access in accordance with post orders and facility protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through appropriate channels and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned buildings, controlled areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual activity.
  • Support daily operations by communicating clearly with site personnel, enforcing rules related to restricted access, and reporting maintenance, life-related, and other security-related concerns.
