About The Position

As a Security Officer Badge Verification Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Our Security Officers monitor and patrol assigned areas in a government transit location, helping to support a secure environment for riders, visitors, and staff. This unarmed patrol role includes routine patrols, a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, offices, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with directing foot traffic, and help to address policy violations, suspicious behavior, and/or unattended items according to post instructions.
  • Support daily operations by communicating with site personnel, providing directions and information to the public, and completing required reports on incidents, patrol activity, and/or noteworthy events.
