As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will manage access points, verify credentials, support badge processes, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • At least two years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, process visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
  • Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized entry or unusual activity.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access-related concerns, incidents, and policy questions.
