As a Security Officer Badge Access Patrol in Palo Alto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a welcoming experience for shoppers, tenants, and staff. Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with management and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, assist with crowd and line management, and report maintenance issues, hazards, and/or policy violations.
• Support loss prevention and property protection efforts by observing customer and employee activity, preparing clear reports, and relaying relevant information to Allied Universal leaders and/or client representatives.
