Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment and clear communication while following armed post orders and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions that may require attention or reporting.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and high-traffic locations, verifying access permissions and documenting security-related incidents, observations, and/or unusual activity according to site procedures.
  • Support healthcare operations by assisting with emergency calls, de-escalation support, and coordination with staff and first responders during medical, behavioral, and/or security-related events.
