About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed in Atlanta, GA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an armed patrol officer in a driving post. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine vehicle and foot rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. Bring strong customer service, teamwork, and integrity as you document activity and support staff and visitors in a professional, people-first environment.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Client requires proof of HS diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge OR Associates Degree/60 College Credits OR Police Academy Certificate OR Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal and location-specific procedures, policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and potential security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, access control support, and coordination with on-site leadership and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying credentials, monitoring visitor check-in processes, and directing individuals to appropriate locations while following posted rules and protocols.
  • Complete timely security-related reports and logs, document incident details, and communicate observations and trends to supervisors and location contacts.
