As a Security Officer Armed in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol professional at a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter incidents, and support security-related operations with strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and/or public emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout facilities, operational areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for personnel, contractors, and visitors in accordance with site protocols and applicable post orders.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or suspicious activity, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, site representatives, and/or law enforcement as needed.
