As a Security Officer Armed in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a utilities location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This role requires an armed guard card or license. Guided by our agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture, you will work with integrity and teamwork to support daily operations.

Requirements

  • Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, parking locations, and other assigned areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and coordinating with appropriate internal contacts and/or emergency responders.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, contractors, and vehicles in accordance with site requirements.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
