As a Security Officer Armed Specialist in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual behavior.
• Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry, providing courteous assistance and clear directions while following post orders and applicable protocols.
• Support campus operations by observing for maintenance issues, policy violations, and/or hazards, then communicating with supervisors, school representatives, and/or first responders as needed.
