Requirements

  • Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical-related calls for assistance, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining an armed presence as assigned by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and sensitive areas, verify authorized entry when required, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious activity according to site procedures.
  • Support hospital and clinic operations by documenting incidents, assisting with de-escalation when appropriate, and coordinating with staff, visitors, and first responders during security-related events.
