As an Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence and coordinated communication with site contacts and local responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry for staff, patients, visitors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols and post orders.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or security-related concerns in a clear and timely manner, and report issues to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.
