Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access control duties, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocol.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and movement throughout the location, verifying credentials, controlling access, and/or supporting established custody and transport procedures as directed by site policy.
  • Assist with emergency communications, alarm response, and coordination with site leadership and/or public agency personnel during incidents, evacuations, medical events, or other urgent situations.
