Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities across an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and/or critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following armed post protocols and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns to supervisors or local responders as appropriate.
• Support campus operations during special events, high-traffic periods, dismissals, and/or after-hours activity by maintaining a visible presence and documenting incidents in a timely manner.
