Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess 4 or more years of military or law enforcement experience or a criminal justice degree.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with loss prevention is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, staff, and/or local law enforcement when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help control entry and exit activity in accordance with location policies, offering directions and assistance to visitors while supporting a professional environment.
  • Carry authorized armed equipment in accordance with Allied Universal standards and location requirements, maintaining readiness to respond to security-related situations with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
