As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Springfield, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
Have customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at a government location.
Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or first responders when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe conditions requiring attention.
Monitor access points and verify permitted entry in accordance with site protocols, documenting visitor activity, deliveries, and/or incidents as required.
Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including assisting with evacuations, directing foot traffic, and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
