Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and local law enforcement when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and movement within restricted areas, verifying credentials and following post orders related to controlled entry, contraband awareness, and/or security-related protocols.
  • Support Allied Universal standards by preparing clear reports, maintaining professional presence, and following all applicable instructions for equipment use, radio communication, and/or incident response.
