Requirements

  • Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess 1+ years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience, 2+ years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Provide a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel and/or public-service agencies.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorization for entry, and assist with maintaining orderly movement of personnel, visitors, and vehicles through designated areas.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for incidents, patrol activities, observations, and other security-related matters.
