Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • At least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations, remaining aware of unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, sensitive areas, and high-traffic spaces within the location, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support access control and visitor management practices, assist with de-escalation when appropriate, and coordinate with site contacts and/or first responders during medical, behavioral, or other emergency events.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
