Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Have an armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local laws.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting activity through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help to enforce site rules for authorized entry, screening, and/or restricted area access in accordance with location protocols.
  • Work with onsite personnel, supervisors, and/or law enforcement when appropriate to address security-related matters, provide information, and support incident response efforts.
