As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Agent in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government education location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization when required, and report unusual behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations according to post orders.
  • Support school-related operations during arrival, dismissal, special events, and after-hours activity by maintaining a visible presence and following established protocols for traffic, access control, and incident response.
