As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, conduct access control activities, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately.
  • Carry and maintain assigned equipment, including authorized firearms, in accordance with applicable laws, site policies, and Allied Universal procedures.
