As an Armed Officer at a cultural institution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Possess access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Possess customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through proper channels.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related issues.
  • Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, observing visitor movement, and assisting with screening procedures according to site instructions.
  • Support Allied Universal standards by maintaining a professional presence, handling security-related communications, and coordinating with local law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when needed.
