As an Armed Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, responding to security-related concerns, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will represent Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture through teamwork and integrity while helping to deter incidents and supporting residents, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

  • Have at least a minimum of 2 years of corrections, law enforcement, military and/or degree in criminal justice.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • A guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, vendors, and clients by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access, maintain visitor and vendor records, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate personnel and emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of community entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and access-control logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
