About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a professional presence throughout the site. This armed and driving post offers the opportunity to use your communication skills, judgment, and teamwork while delivering reliable service with integrity in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Possess at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including preparing clear and accurate activity and incident reports.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and report suspicious behavior, prohibited items, and/or unusual conditions to site leadership.
  • Support controlled movement, perimeter checks, and emergency protocols while maintaining professional communication and following all post orders and use-of-force guidelines.
