About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Hospital Patrol Driver in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a healthcare location where you will conduct mobile patrols, perform security-related rounds, and respond to incidents with calm, clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license. You will help to deter unwanted activity through a visible presence, detailed reporting, and teamwork that reflects our agile, reliable, and people-first culture.

Requirements

Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton are preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating notifications to Allied Universal leadership and/or on-site contacts.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
Monitor access points, assist with visitor direction and/or sign-in procedures, and report unauthorized persons, suspicious behavior, or policy violations to the appropriate parties.
Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation; communicate relevant information during shift transitions to support continuity of operations.
