About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol - Hospital in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare Sites, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you'll actively monitor and patrol a dynamic Healthcare Facility. You'll help to deter security-related incidents, respond to situations as they arise, and provide outstanding customer service while remaining visible throughout your assigned area. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Act 235 qualification is required for positions in Pennsylvania.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or breaches.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Collaborate with site staff and local law enforcement as needed to address security-related concerns and/or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptions and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
  • Follow all company and client policies regarding the use and handling of firearms during assigned duties.
