As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service, and document observations. Requirements

Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
Pepper spray certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, donors, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and requesting assistance from management, emergency services, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including public areas, donor screening and treatment areas as permitted, offices, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit by observing visitor flow, checking credentials when required, and reporting unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activity.
Perform routine security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting, and other physical conditions, and promptly report maintenance concerns and/or hazards according to site procedures.
Observe and report signs of theft, property damage, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior; document observations using required reports and electronic systems.
Assist with incident documentation, including completing reports with accurate details, maintaining chain of communication, and preserving information for follow-up.
Support emergency preparedness actions such as alarms, evacuations, shelter-in-place procedures, and medical emergencies by following post orders and coordinating with site personnel and/or responding agencies.
Maintain a professional presence while interacting with the public, providing directions and general assistance while upholding site rules and post instructions.
Operate communications equipment such as radios and telephones, and maintain timely communication with site contacts, dispatch, and/or supervisors regarding changing conditions.
