About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Hospital Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols and monitor assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service. This is both an armed and driving post. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, serving as a visible presence to promote a secure environment. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the healthcare environment in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate judgement.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a secure location.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken according to Allied Universal and client site protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and law enforcement when necessary to address incidents and emergencies.
  • Remain alert to unusual activities or conditions that may require intervention or escalation, and respond according to site procedures.
