As a Security Officer Armed Driver in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer in a utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with supervisors and/or local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout operational areas, access points, and perimeter routes to help identify unusual activity and/or potential hazards.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or authorizations, and report access control concerns according to site policies.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts by assisting with evacuations, directing traffic flow, and/or maintaining awareness of utility infrastructure areas that require heightened attention.
