About The Position

As a Security Officer Armed Driver Response in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. This driving post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors, and reflect Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and contacting appropriate emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-related locations, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, reporting unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
