As a Security Officer Armed Driver Patrol in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Security Officer, you will patrol a retail shopping center, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and staff. This driving post involves operating a vehicle in accordance with Allied Universal policy, responding to security-related concerns, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication, teamwork, integrity, and a caring approach.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of retail common areas, parking lots, storefronts, loading areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
  • Help maintain an orderly shopping environment by monitoring access points, observing activity throughout the location, and reporting suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and incidents.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
