As a Security Officer Armed Driver Patrol in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a government location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Possess at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government correctional location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, remaining alert to unusual activity and conditions that could help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access control points and verify identification, credentials, and/or authorization for entry and movement within restricted areas in accordance with post orders and site procedures.
  • Support emergency and security-related response activities by following established protocols, providing clear direction during incidents, and preparing accurate reports on patrol activity, incidents, and/or notable observations.
