As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. This is an an armed and driving post, offering the opportunity to support critical infrastructure with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity in every interaction.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, operational areas, and perimeter routes, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas while verifying access permissions for authorized personnel, vehicles, and/or vendors in accordance with site rules.
  • Support incident response by communicating with local responders and site contacts, assisting with evacuations, and following post orders during weather, utility, and/or other operational disruptions.
