Join Allied Universal at an education location as an armed patrol officer in a driving post, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and/or critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner while coordinating with site contacts and public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout academic buildings, parking areas, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and campus activity, verify credentials when required, and document security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or incidents according to site procedures.
  • Support a professional environment by giving directions, addressing concerns, and communicating clearly with students, staff, visitors, and/or law enforcement during routine operations and emergency situations.
