As a Security Officer Armed Detention Perm Hospital in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• A corrections officer license is required.
• A law enforcement officer license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, visitors, and contractors, while reporting unusual conditions, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns.
• Support emergency and after-hours operations by assisting with alarms, escorts, incident reporting, and other security-related duties based on site needs and changing conditions.
