As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to situations with calm professionalism. You will build trust through clear communication and customer service while supporting an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years' armed security and/or law enforcement and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or armed guard license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or guard license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or transit patrons by carrying out site-specific procedures and policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Carry assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, training requirements, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disturbances, and/or suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor and operate access control points, including verifying identification/credentials, directing visitors, and/or controlling entry to restricted areas as required by post orders.
  • Provide visible presence at transit-related locations to help to deter loitering, disorderly conduct, theft, and/or vandalism, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Observe, document, and report security-related hazards such as damaged doors, lighting outages, and/or unsecured gates, and notify appropriate contacts per site procedures.
  • Use radio, telephone, and/or electronic reporting systems to communicate routine information and urgent updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Write clear, timely incident reports and daily activity logs, including detailed descriptions of actions taken, involved parties, and any notifications made.
  • Support crowd management and pedestrian and/or vehicle flow during peak hours, special events, and service disruptions as directed by post orders.
  • Perform initial response actions within scope of training, including scene control and preservation of evidence when a security-related incident occurs, and coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct checks of doors, gates, and critical areas during patrols, and report irregularities such as forced entry attempts, trespass activity, and/or property damage.
  • Maintain professional appearance, equipment readiness, and situational awareness to support consistent performance across varying working environments and conditions.
