As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support staff and visitors with a customer-service mindset while documenting activity and reporting issues promptly. Requirements

Customer service experience is preferred.
A guard card and/or license is preferred.
An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, client policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government facility.
Carry and maintain assigned authorized firearm and related equipment in accordance with state law, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies.
Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, checking identification, and/or confirming authorization for entry.
Conduct entry screening as required, including visual inspections and the use of screening equipment, while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, alarms, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance.
Communicate promptly with site management and/or public emergency services when conditions warrant, and assist with scene control until relieved.
Complete detailed, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activity, and security-related observations in accordance with post orders.
Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other systems when assigned, and take appropriate action based on established procedures.
Support public-facing events and high-traffic periods by directing pedestrian and vehicle flow, maintaining orderly lines, and providing clear information to the public.
