About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Civic Patrol in Queens, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government transit environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and communicate clearly with riders, staff, and law enforcement partners. Requirements

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Perform armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, maintaining a visible presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and help to control entry and exit in accordance with post orders.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and policy violations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and handle assigned equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal training and applicable regulations.
